Yamaki - Nozawa Onsen

Yamaki, “the little hotel in the forest” as it’s nicknamed, is a picture-perfect little hotel, in a quiet backwater less than 5 minutes from both the main Nagasaka Gondola, and from O-yu dori, the main street. From the real log stove in the lobby, to Mrs. Mori’s heartfelt welcome, to the comfort of your room, you’ll find this a cozy home from home, whether you’re a couple, a family, or a group of friends. As you’d expect in Nozawa Onsen, there are onsen baths for guests to soak at the end of the day. The pristine restaurant serves a simple western-style breakfast, and excellent dinners with a reservation. There are some private dining rooms available on request, too. As with all Nozawa Hospitality properties, there’s bilingual concierge service by phone, as well as English-speaking staff on-site. All rooms are spotlessy clean, most have a view, washlet toilets and washbasins ensuite.  There are Japanese rooms for up to 5 people, and Western rooms with two and three beds.  Some rooms have ensuite showers.  All the rooms have local TV, a kettle, onsen towel, yukata (Japanese sleeping gown), locally-controlled heating, and windows that open.
